 Raziel Tsur

Raziel specializes in performing a wide range of musical styles, including Classical, World Music, Jazz, and Folk.

He began studying the mandolin at the age of eight with teacher and conductor Benjamin Bilski and later continued his studies with Prof. Moti Shmit at the Jerusalem Academy of Music.

Raziel serves as the Deputy Director of the Rosh Ha’ayin Municipal Conservatory and is the General Director of the Israeli Plectrum Orchestra – Rosh Ha’ayin, considered one of the finest mandolin orchestras of its kind in the world.

He is also the musical director and conductor of the Israeli Youth Plectrum Orchestra and a leading mandolin instructor, training mandolin teachers through courses at the Ministry of Education.

As a soloist, Raziel regularly performs with orchestras and ensembles across Israel and has appeared at major festivals worldwide. He has collaborated with various ensembles throughout Europe, the United States, and Israel. He is a member of the Israeli Plectrum Orchestra, where he serves as concertmaster and has performed as a soloist, winning first prize at the “Culture” Festival in Poland.

Raziel is the founder and first mandolinist of the Dolce Mandolin Quartet. He also plays in several ensembles that explore diverse musical traditions, including Portuguese and Brazilian music, as well as Italian and Greek repertoire.

Dedicated to mandolin education and nurturing the next generation of musicians, Raziel serves as the music coordinator for the Schools Music project at the Symphony Music Center in Rosh Ha’ayin. As part of this role, he conducts mandolin orchestras throughout the city. He also offers masterclasses for students preparing for final music exams.

Raziel studied Orchestral Conducting at Rimon School of Music under the guidance of conductors Roni Porat and Yaron Gottfried.

He holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Bar-Ilan University.
